“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
Luke 15:8-10
Bad situations and circumstances can happen to anyone.
We all have the ability to screw something up.
When we do mess up, Satan is usually right there on the scene to make sure that we feel guilt, shame, and embarrassment.
He wants us to feel so bad that we believe that even God would want nothing to do with us.
When Adam and Eve sinned, one of the first things that they did was run and hide from God.
One of the great things about God is that when you miss the mark, He doesn’t want you to hide from Him.
In fact, God’s love for you will cause Him to go looking for you.
Even though God has a large family, He still considers you to be valuable enough to look for you.
And when He finds you he throws a party.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for finding me. I am so glad that your love and grace go beyond all of the things that I did wrong and rescued me from my mess. Thank you for forgiving me and cleaning me up. I am coming to understand the power of your love. I also accept the responsibility to share this love with others.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

“You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.”
Psalm 66:12
Sometimes it seems as though we have nothing but problems.
The challenges of everyday life often overwhelm us.
We can’t seem to catch our breath from the last thing before something new happens.
There seems to be no end in sight.
Just as fire refines silver, our tests and trials refine who we are.
In the midst of our struggles, God has not forgotten about us.
In fact, He has already prepared a place where we have more than we could ever imagine.
As you go through your day remember that the difficult moments are preparing you to walk in the abundance that God has prepared for you.
God, even though some days are challenging and difficult, I thank you. Thank You for preparing a place of abundance for me. I realize that the tests make me strong. I understand that You would never do anything to harm me. I take this time to thank You in advance for your deliverance and blessings. May I forever give out of the abundance that You give to me.
Amen.

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way.”
Psalm 139:23-24
One of the things that separate the “one-hit wonders” from those with long-lasting success is character.
Character is often defined as doing what’s right, even if no one is looking.
A person with good character is thought to be dependable and trustworthy.
It is our responsibility to represent ourselves in the best way possible.
The president of your company and the janitor should be able to see that you can be relied on at all times.
“People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built.”
Eleanor Roosevelt
God, I desire to please You in every area of my life. remove any barriers that would keep me from experiencing all that You have for me. I will strive to live each day with the focus of fullfilling my purpose and blessing everyone that comes my way. I look forward to a long life, full of victories and accomplishments. My future is in Your hands.
Amen.
a new direction
As November is coming to an end, I am thinking of taking this blog in a new direction in 2011.
I have been blogging for almost 5 years now and I need to refine my focus.

“Am I my brothers keeper?”
Genesis 4:9
As we go about our daily tasks it’s easy to think that we are on an island.
We rush from one appointment to the next, consumed with our own agendas.
We have to look out for ourselves.
If we don’t, who will?
God never intended for us to live out lives alone.
He created us with a strong need to be on a team.
Whether your team is in an office, on a field, or in a church, God made us for relationships.
The stronger our relationships, the more success we will achieve in life.
“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”
Henry Ford
We need each other for our lives to be as successful as God intended them to be.
Father, help us to work together as a team. We long to be ONE family, representing You to the entire world. Our unity and concern for each other should be a reflection of Your love for us.
You have given us an important assignment. We trust that your Spirit will be with us to guide and direct. Thank You for the victories.
Amen.
word of the day
“Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! It will be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that very hour.”
Matthew 8:13

Why does it seem difficult for the church to show and share the love of God?
We don’t have a problem preaching at people.
We don’t mind being judgmental.
We love to sing and dance in our buildings.
We like to dress up on a given day of the week.
We’re experts at biblical gymnastics.
When was the last time someone outside the church experienced the life-changing love of God?
When was the last time you got outside your church?
I don’t mean witnessing on some street corner.
I mean sharing Love.
Water to those who are thirsty.
Food to those who are hungry.
Friendship to the lonely.
Hope to the hopeless.
I once heard somewhere that Love is a verb.
It propels us to action.
Make plans to share the Love of God today.

“…..All things are possible to him who believes”
Mark 9:23
It has been said that faith is not knowing that God can, but knowing that God will.
As a Christ-follower, we get the built-in benefit of unlimited possibilities.
We get to play on a team, where even if it’s the bottom of the ninth inning, and there are two outs, we can still win.
So even if you’re sick, HEALING is possible.
If your marriage is crumbling, RESTORATION is possible.
If there is chaos in your life, PEACE is possible.
If you are broke, PROSPERITY is possible.
Give God a chance to make your impossible POSSIBLE.
Father, thank You for allowing us the opportunity to be on your team.
Thank you for making things POSSIBLE. All we have to do is BELIEVE.
We trust only in Your Word. We rely totally on Your Spirit.
Give us the courage to continue on, inspite of the way things may look.
We believe that You are faithful to do what You said You would do. Amen.
what keeps you from your goals? (part 2)

Not considering the Consequences
“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?”
(Luke 14:28)
Often times we fail to understand or realize that reaching our dreams may cost us something.
Behind every great story, business, ministry, or marriage, you will find moments of sacrifice and discipline.
To reach your goals in life you must be willing to pay the price.
It may cost you your precious reputation. It may cost you the comfort of your present situation.
You have to be willing to do whatever it takes to be successful and reach your goals.
You have to weigh all of the costs involved and then make a quality decision to go for it.
You must be able to persevere in the face of seemingly impossible odds and overwhelming challenges.
