5 to follow (fall ’09)

On Twitter, Fridays are made for following. Follow Fridays is geared toward letting others know who you think is valuable to follow, in terms of their comments and impact on the world.

Here is the first monthly installment of my 5 To Follow.

P4CM is a growing church movement in Los Angeles. They first got my attention with their ground-breaking t-shirt line (check it out here). The also are the home to some of the hottest spoken-word artists around (Blair Wingo, etc).

The folks at P4CM are not afraid to tackle the toughest issues. Pastor Justin Cox and the crew are on point with their biblical knowledge and willingness to share the gospel with those who are lost. This movement has also spread to college campuses around the U.S.

Shaun King

I’ve been following Shaun for a little over a year now. He is in fact the only one of this months 5 To Follow that I have actually met in person (he’s a little taller than I thought). Shaun is doing big things down in Atlanta. His church (Courageous Church) has been impressive, not only in their ability to come together as a diverse group of people, united in worshipping God, but also as a new church that has a heart to serve people. Shaun is spearheading the flood relief efforts in the ATL. I look forward to seeing more of what God is going to do through his life and ministry.

D.J. Wade-O

Wade-O is a dynamic, spirit-filled Christian DJ. He hosts a weekly show that is broadcasts on the internet along with 15 stations out of markets including: New York City; London, England; Toronto, Canada; Philipsburg, St. Maarten and several others. He also does his thing via podcast. His shows feature interviews, encouraging words, and some of the best music you will find anywhere. One of the best things about the Wade-O radio show is not just the awesome music he serves up, but also the fact that he takes the time to minister the word of God.
It’s more than music, its ministry.

Milan Ford

Milan also represents the ATL. He is a content editor for a number of online Christian networks. He is also an inspiring leader when it comes to social issues and getting ministry done outside the 4 walls of a building. He is a proud husband and father. I am looking forward to his new book, 83 Things I Wish The Black Church Would Stop Doing, which is due out this fall.
